The Role
The Transformation Program Manager is a senior leadership role within the Transformation Office, acting as the Transformation Director’s trusted partner in driving enterprise-wide transformation. This role is responsible for the strategic coordination and operational management of the transformation program, ensuring initiatives are aligned with organisational priorities and delivered effectively. The Transformation Program Manager provides assurance across program scope, leadership, capability, and vendor arrangements, while maintaining oversight of planning, risk, reporting, and governance. Through proactive engagement and disciplined execution, the Program Manager enables informed decision making by executives and the Board, and ensures the transformation delivers measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the trusted advisor to the Transformation Director, providing strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the transformation program
- Ensure all programs of work have the appropriate level of leadership, oversight, and executive sponsorship to support successful delivery
- Oversee the documentation and validation of program scopes, ensuring clarity of objectives, deliverables, and alignment with strategic priorities
- Assess and advise on organisational capability required to deliver transformation initiatives, identifying gaps and recommending resourcing or capability uplift strategies
- Provide assurance over vendor management, including oversight of contractual arrangements, performance monitoring, and alignment with transformation outcomes
- Develop and maintain the integrated master schedule and consolidated budget for the transformation program, ensuring all initiative timelines are aligned
- Track progress across all transformation initiatives and present consolidated status reports for the Transformation Director, Steering Committee and Board
- Facilitate governance meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions and action items, and ensure follow-up on action items to completion
- Maintain the program risk register and issue log, coordinate risk mitigation actions and issue resolution with relevant stakeholders
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Transformation Program Office and other business units, ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged, and supported throughout the transformation journey
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MBA, Master of Project Management) are highly regarded
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in program or project management, with demonstrated success leading complex, enterprise-wide transformation programs
- Proven experience in strategic planning, program assurance, and vendor management within a large organisational context
- Strong understanding of organisational capability development, workforce planning, and benefit realisation
- Familiarity with governance frameworks and project methodologies such as Agile, MSP, and PMBOK
Knowledge & Experience:
- Extensive experience leading complex, enterprise-wide transformation programs within large organisations
- Deep understanding of program governance, risk management, and benefit realisation frameworks
- Proven track record in strategic planning, program assurance, and vendor management
- Familiarity with project and program management methodologies such as Agile, MSP (Managing Successful Programmes), PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), and PRINCE2
- Advanced proficiency in project and portfolio management tools (e.g. MS Project, Clarity PPM), with experience in interpreting and presenting data to executive and board audiences
- Strong knowledge of organisational capability development and workforce planning principles
- Experience operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster alignment across diverse stakeholders
